In our orchestra, Symfonieorkest Eindhoven, we have a vacancy for a tuba. We are looking for an enthusiastic, sociable, yet ambitious tuba player who wants to become a permanent member of the beautiful brass section and the orchestra. It would be great if you already have experience playing in a symphony orchestra.
We perform three regular programs per year with the orchestra: a spring and a winter program are performed at the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven and in a concert hall in another city in the Netherlands. In addition, we perform an annual family concert at TU Eindhoven. Sometimes we do
accompanying a choir or attending an occasional concert. Our regular rehearsal night is Thursday evening. For both the spring and winter programs, we schedule a rehearsal weekend or day. The wind section rehearses separately on a regular basis. A good overview of our programs can be found on this site, as well as information about the orchestra itself.
As is customary for vacancies for wind players in our orchestra, there is an audition in which we select a candidate who can play along with the upcoming program and who will become a member after the concert, provided it has been played to satisfaction. During the audition, you will be asked to play a solo piece and a selection of excerpts from that program.
