In our orchestra, Eindhoven Symphony Orchestra, we have a vacancy for that of principle viola. We are looking for an enthusiastic, social yet ambitious viola player who, as a member of the association, leads our group of violists, represents and, where appropriate, plays the orchestral solos.
The orchestra performs three regular programs each year: a spring and winter concert at the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven (each with a try-out outside the region) and a family concert at Eindhoven University of Technology. We also occasionally provide choir accompaniment or make outings to special concerts. Our regular rehearsal night is Thursday evening. For both the spring and winter programs, we schedule a rehearsal weekend or day.
There will be an audition round where we select a candidate to play the upcoming program and who will become a member after the concert, provided it goes well. During the audition, you will be asked to perform a solo piece and a selection of excerpts from the program.
