Under the direction of our new conductor Michiel van Vliet, we will perform beautiful works this season around the theme of 'Water', each with its own flowing character.
Reflections on the Hudson is a beautiful and award-winning work by the – relatively unknown to us – American composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen.
"Sea Pictures” by Edward Elgar is a collection of songs written for voice and orchestra, sung by the talented mezzo-soprano Eline Welle.
In My Flax Bedrich Smetana combined the form of the symphonic poem with the ideals of nationalistic music known in the Czech Republic at the end of the 19th century. Each poem describes various aspects of the landscape, history, or myths and legends of Bohemia. The second poem, Vltava, sketches a journey through the Bohemian country along the Moldau.
The Sea is a four-movement orchestral suite by British composer Frank Bridge – the titles of the various movements all refer to the sea. In the final movement, Bridge lets loose (in true British fashion!) with an exuberant storm at sea.
An excellent opportunity for you to meet our new conductor and musical director Michiel van Vliet!
We wish you a wonderful and surprising performance!
